Independence Day!

                                                          The Fourth Of July!!!

Tomorrow's the Fourth of July! YAY! Time to go to out and celebrate with everybody else! Well sadly I'm can't go since I live in Canada but I did celebrate Canada Day!

This post will probably be a lot better and a lot shorter than the one for Canada Day because I'm going to post video from YouTube for outfits for the 4th of July. Of course this way I don't need to explain much since it's already explained in the videos!

                           Nails!

Another great tutorial by Cutepolish! I love her videos! Anyway, the nail art is extremely easy! Simply draw stripes and stick stars on your nails, not that hard. Unless your hands shake a lot when you're doing your nails.

                           Outfits!

ClothesEncounters' outfit video is just amazing! Her outfits are really cute and very simple! Plus she explains perfectly well why she chose them and what she paired them with. Unlike me who can barely explain something properly. XD

I love these shorts! They look so awesome! Since this is a DIY it may not look as good as the ones in store(sometimes better than the ones in store) but at least you can change it to however you like it! Plus they're probably cheaper than the ones in store.

Wow! This post is a lot shorter than the previous one. Maybe because I didn't have much to write about since the video explained everything. Anyways lets end this post with the USA's nation anthem!

CANADA DAY IS HERE!

                     Great Ideas for Canada Day!

Tomorrow is finally Canada Day! Is anybody going to the carnival, events, firework show or parades? If you are then here are some great things you can wear or make for Canada Day!

                             Nails!

Here's a nail art tutorial by Luvablenails. The red maple leaf and the beaver, isn't that enough to know that these nails are representing Canada?! Sadly they're a bit hard for those who can't draw on their nails.

Now this one is much more easier than the one above. This tutorial is made by Cutepolish. Her design is much more simpler than the one by Luvablenails. Even though it's just a red heart and some red and white nails, you can immediately recognize that it represents Canada.

                        Accessories!

Nothing can go wrong with wearing a bracelet with a Canadian flag! You can wear it whenever you like! This bracelet is really just a sign of how we are proud to be Canadians or it can be a great souvenir for tourists! XD

I found this ring while I was searching for rings online and WOW! I love this ring! It's a maple leaf that wraps around your finger. The design is simple so it can match any outfit.

When I searched up necklaces for Canada Day, all I found was those Canadian flag tag necklaces. It wasn't cute at all. So instead I decided to search up maple leaf necklaces. A red maple leaf is one of the best ways to represent Canada right? Well this necklace is just a simple red maple leaf so I thought it wold be great for Canada Day. But personally I think this necklace is best during Autumn.

Well I really don't have much else to show you guys for Canada Day except for this awesome version of Canada's national anthem by Classified!

Have a great day tomorrow to all of the Canadians and of course to everybody else!

SUMMER IS HERE!!!!!

                   Awesome Summer Outfits

Summer is finally here! YAY! The terribly hot weather and the blazing sun mean it's finally time to take out those shorts and dresses! Well this only concerns those who live in cold and hot places like Canada but if you live in California... You're likely to never feel cold. (≧∇≦)

So today I am going to introduce you to one of my favorite fashion YouTuber and show you some awesome DIY for summer outfits! So let's start!

               Clothesencounters

Clothesencounters is a fashion YouTuber like I said in the beginning. Her name is Jenn Im. She is Korean American meaning her parents are Korean but she was born and raised in the US.

Her videos are mainly just about fashion. She doesn't have much tutorials or anything but she has so many ideas for outfits. She shows us a lot of types of clothing and ways to coordinate them. Her style is very unique so it inspires me a lot.

Here's a video one of her video for Summer outfits.

              Summer Fashion DIYs

So during the Summer most of us girls tend to wear more shorts and dresses right? Some of us prefer to wear tights underneath our dresses or shorts to shows less skin or is that just me? Anyways, I wanted to introduce you guys to the Harajuku fashion trend Tattoo Tights.
They seem like tattoos but they're not. It's just a print on a clear tight! Sadly there's not many stores in North America that sells Tattoo Tights. Maybe there are but not where I live since not many people actually know about this trend. Of course you could always buy it online but for those who like to save as much money as possible then here's an awesome DIY.

Easy right? Just make sure not to choose a complicated print cause it's going to be very hard and it'll take a lot of time.

From time to time I miss wearing long jeans during the summer. It's just so comfortable but it'll be too hot to wear! But likely, one day I found this awesome DIY on a Korean fashion trend. I don't really know what it's called but it's very cute. It's a pair of jeggings or jeans that has cut outs of bows.

It's actually quite simple but hopefully not too hard for those who aren't good at these types of DIYs. Only bad things is that you might get a weird looking tan on your legs. XD

Anyway, this is the end of post. I hope you guys will try one of these DIYs and be inspired for your awesome Summer outfits! I will be making a post for Canada day outfits and Independence day outfits in July so make sure to check them out! O(≧∇≦)O

They are very cute, down to earth and funny girls. Both of them make videos about either makeup, hairstyles, fashion or DIYs. Both of them have been on YouTube for a long time so they have a lot of videos for you to check out. Ok so lets start with...

         SecretLifeOfABioNerd!

I have only recently started watching her videos. Actually I started watching them yesterday but I instantly fell in love with her DIYs! She's aiming to be a fashion designer so she has a lot of experiences which makes her DIYs better. Her DIYs for clothes will be more complicated for those who doesn't know how to sew but DIYs on decoration or styling, no worries because she explains them very well! Here's one of my favorite DIY:
This is an example of DIY concerning sewing but she has many more without sewing so please go check them out on her YouTube channel SecretLifeOfABioNerd!

                                                            BubzBeauty!
Ah...Bubz, such a funny and adorable girl. I've been watching Bubz for a very long time. I remember her first video I watched was called Asian Invasion on her comedy channel Bubbiosity. After that I found out her main channel was Bubzbeauty and well now I've been following it since. I don't even remember when I started watching her videos XD
Her videos are mainly makeup tutorials, hairstyle tutorials, beauty advice for girls and sometimes DIYs. She explains her DIYs and beauty videos very well. She also makes a lot of DIY facial treatment which are very easy and cheap! Like this one:
So cheap and easy to make! Plus your reusing the tea bag so you're not wasting anything! It's a pretty good thing because I'm Asian and well I drink a lot of tea! Anyways, make sure to check out her awesome channel BubzBeauty and her website Bubzbeauty.com!

Well, this will be the end of my first post in a month! I will be making my next post when I find something good to write and I'll also make sure it's going to be in June. I'm just so happy that Summer vacation is close!

Oh! Forgot to mention, I'm writing this post because I wanted to and not because they told me to. Plus there's no way those 2 awesome ladies know me.

Tokyo Fashion + Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Tokyo Fashion + Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Tokyo Fashion is a magazine site on, as the name says, Tokyo fashion. They introduced to me many awesome brands in Harajuku. Of course not in person but they do put many videos on YouTube. They upload many interviews, parades, fashion walks and a lot more. They upload many photos daily on their website or app of people with crazy outfits or to them normal outfits. They are always up to date of fashion news in Tokyo. Even though I cannot attend to ANY of them but it's still fun to see some pictures of the event.

They recently went to 6% DOKIDOKI's photo shoot for their first bilingual mook(magazine/book)!

I just ADORED the outfits and background! The models were also very cute! I also loved Masuda Sebastien's hat, it looks like the mad hatter's.

How many of you readers know Kyary Pamyu Pamyu? Not many, right? Well she is someone just as good as PSY. Maybe even better. Kyary is a model and JPop(Japanese pop)singer who wears crazy but cute outfits. She is well known in Harajuku because of her Harajuku style clothing. She also represents 6% DOKIDOKI. Kyary is not only cute but her music is just as cute and weird. Her music videos are weird as heck! Check out her MV PONPONPON!

Any of guys find that normal? Well I don't but I still like it very much. It's repetitive but very catchy just like Gangnam Style! Though Kyary's is more cute.

Anyway I know this post was short and not that good but I really wanted to do at least two post per months so ya... It's 11:53 pm so I better go to sleep and maybe I will update this post to make it better. If not I will remake this post in May! Hope every is excited for the sunny Summer that is coming soon cause I am!!!!!!! C:

Harajuku

            COLORFUL HARAJUKU

Have any of you guys ever heard of Harajuku? Well if you haven't then you'll discover a  crazy colorful world! A place where nobody is can be called weird or ugly.

Harajuku is a shopping district between Shinjuku and Shibuya. Every Sunday, a bunch of young people will go to Harajuku to hang out and of course most of them will dress up a bit or more like a lot. The picture above is just an example of a tiny portion of the people in Harajuku. As you can see, they aren't dressed like how we would on a regular Sunday. All of the styles of the world unite in this shopping district. Emo, visual kei, goth, lolita, decora, ganguro, hipster, vintage, hip hop, rockers, cosplay, every kind of style you can think of!

Today I will be introducing to you guys some of the most seen fashion styles. So let's start! XD

               KAWAII DECORA

Kawaii Decora is probably my most favorite fashion style out of all of them. If you translate it in English, it would be Cute Decoration. It's a very crazy, colorful and overloaded fashion style. The arms are usually full with crazy bracelets and the hair will be full of hair accessories. Usually the clothes are colorful and same with the shoes. Toys and plushies are a big part of Kawaii Decora. Sometimes it's a hair accessory or a bag. OH! I also forgot to mention that they have colorful hair as well. :D

                Visual Kei

Ah~ Visual Kei, I love this style just as much as Kawaii Decora. It's kind of a mix of punk and goth. Their clothes are usually black, red, white, the usual dark colors. It is more crazy and less casual. They tend to have medium length or long hair. The hair's usually  layered and styled like the ones you see above. Of course, some or most of the people will wear makeup. Usually heavy eyeliner and lipstick. Visual Kei is actually quite normal in Japan. Most rock band are either goth or visual kei like Dir En Grey, The Gazette, LM.C, Ayabie, Malice Mizer, etc.

                  Lolita

Lolita is a really elegant and cute style. The clothing involves a lot of frills and ruffly knee high dresses. They use a lot of floral accessories. Also bows and lace are used a lot. Most lolita are either Gothic or bright and cute like the 4 girls in the picture. Simply described, Lolita is a cute and floral princess like style.

So I finally finished introducing to you guys, the three main styles in Harajuku. There is more but I wanted to finish this post before the end of April. I had so much to do this month, I couldn't find anytime to finish this post. But I still hope you found out a bit more about Harajuku and make sure to check out TokyoFashion to find out about the stores and more on Harajuku!

Macarons!

               A Week Of Sweetness

This week was full of sweetness! I celebrated two birthdays and made ton of sweets! I was busy with school, presents and making sweets the whole week and I just feel so EXHAUSTED! I'm probably just going to sit through the weekend on the computer. Too tired to even move.

This week was my Grandma and sister's birthday. My Grandma's was on the 14th and my sister's was on the 16th but we celebrated it on the 15th. Some of my aunts came to visit so I decided to make sweets for the two birthdays and for my aunts to bring home. I made macaroons. I don't know how you guys call these but I call it macaron. This is french sweet created by Pierre Herme.
Mine's weren't as beautiful as the ones above but it was still delicious! If you want to know how to make them continue to read!

Ingredients:
-2 room temputured eggs
-5 tbs. of granulated sugar
-1/2 cup of ground almonds or almond powder
-1 cup of icing sugar
-food colouring(optional)

Utensils:
-an electric mixer
-2 large bowl
-parchment paper or wax paper
-2 sheet pans(the size depends of how big your oven is)
-oil(if using was paper)
-plastic or rubber spatula
-piping bags

First, separate the eggs into one of the large bowl. All you need are the egg whites. Once separated, start beating the egg whites with an electric mixer a maximum speed. After it starts to become like foam, add 5 tbs. of granulated sugar. Continue to beat the eggs for a minute or two. It should end up like this.
You know it's done when you can flip the bowl over without the egg whites falling down.

In the other bowl pour the ground almond and icing sugar. With the spatula, mix until it's blended. Then pour the mix into the egg whites. FOLD the egg whites with the mix using the spatula. There are tons of video on how to fold egg whites on YouTube so go check it out if you don't know how to. This is how it's suppose to be like. It can't be too stiff nor too liquid-like.
When you finished leave it aside and start putting parchment paper on the sheet pan. If using wax paper, make sure to put some oil. Then pour the macaron batter or mix into a piping bag or a zip-lock bag and start piping it onto the sheet pan. You can pipe it in any shape you like. Usually they are small and round but I played with the shapes. You can buy some mold sheets that shows you how big the shapes are suppose to be. It will also be easier than doing it by eye.

Leave it aside for 10 to 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. When it's heated put the the pans into the oven and bake it for 12 to 15 minutes. After it's done, let it cool on a cooling rack and peel the macarons of the parchment or wax paper. Add any kind of filling you like and it should end up like this!

Mine's ended up like this. Wasn't the prettiest but it was fun to make! :D
I'm not a pastry chef or anything amazing so it's normal mine isn't pretty so don't be sad if yours wasn't as pretty as the pictures. I failed many times before it ended up like this! XD
